Le 7 mars 2004, les amateurs d’art contemporain ont pu joindre l’utile à l’agréable en participant à un événement-exposition-encan d’œuvres de 25 artistes dont René Derouin, Rita Briansky, Cozic, Lyne Lapointe, Clémence Desrochers, Gilles Boisvert et Joyce Borenstein.

Ces artistes reconnus avaient généreusement accepté de créer des œuvres à partir de simples boîtes de bois blanc spécifiquement pour la tenue de cet événement. L’encan du 7 mars a offert l’occasion d’acquérir une de ces pièces de collection originales tout en encourageant des femmes dans leur parcours vers l’autonomie.

Cet événement était une des principales activités de financement de l’année 2004 pour la Fondation, un organisme sans but lucratif qui remet chaque année une quinzaine de bourses d’études à des femmes qui en ont grandement besoin.

On Sunday, March 7 2004, contemporary-art lovers were able to mix social commitment with pleasure at this auction event/exhibit of works by 25 artists including René Derouin, Rita Briansky, Cozic, Lyne Lapointe, Clémence Desrochers, Gilles Boisvert, Joyce Borenstein and others.

These renowned artists had generously agreed to create works specifically for the event, out of simple whitewood boxes. The auction held on March 7 offered the opportunity to acquire one of these collection pieces while encouraging women in their steps toward autonomy.

This event was one of the Foundation’s main fundraising activity for 2004. The Lea Roback Foundation is a non-profit organization that awards approximately fifteen scholarships every year to women who can benefit the most.
